With schools, it costs money, especially with small classes. Money helps schools with teacher salaries, support, books, supplies, food, and supplies. If schools did not get funded they would not be able to buy textbooks for students. Also if schools did not have money they would not get many teachers to teach so which is a disadvantage for the students. If schools want a high-functioning school they have to use the money to help students get the recourses they need. I personally went to a school that did not get much money funded, we did not have many textbooks so we either had to buy them ourselves or share the ones they had. Not every student is able to buy textbooks so that puts the students at a disadvantage, every student should get the chance to learn and have the recourses they need. Also, we did not have many teachers so they had teachers teaching some subjects that they did not know much about so our test scores were low. Teachers need to be paid equally as well so they can do their job. The school I went to also did not have much money for food, so our food was low quality. Most students just brought lunch from home since the food was so bad. Also, classrooms did not have many chairs or desks so it is necessary to be able to have chairs, desks, and textbooks for every student so everyone has a fair chance of getting educated.

What lengths am I willing to go in order to do right by every child?
One thing that I will find very important in my classroom is that treat everyone how they want to be treated; I will teach my students the golden rule and make sure they go by it. Bullying will not be allowed in my classroom; if I see it happen, I will confront my children and give them a warning; if it keeps happening, I will send them to the office so their parents can be called. To ensure I am doing right by my children, I will ensure I am very knowledgeable in the topic I will be teaching and make sure my children are learning correctly. I want to be sure I am treating every student equally. I will make sure everyone is treated the same and will be treated as if. I will teach my students the goals that should be made in the classroom. If students end up being bad they will be warned the first time and then punished. I want to ensure my children also have fun, so I will make activities fun but also teach my kids. I will make sure I am always in a good mood and optimistic about teaching because I want to enjoy my job and enjoy teaching my kids so my children will also enjoy school. I will also ensure my students know they can always come to me for help or questions. Every student should know they are not alone, and I'm always here to help them every step of the way. I will also help my student's parents if they need help or need advice or with any questions they have because it is important to keep students parents in the loop.

How does gender affect the teaching profession?
Gender can affect the teaching profession because if you create a bias in the classroom, students will accept or even create their own literacy experiences. It is important to have gender awareness, you can help children explore who they are and help them gain their own self-confidence, and peer acceptance. If you have a bias it can have a negative impact on the students education goals, and it also affects economic growth. If students start dealing with inequality they will start believing that it is normal, so they will bring that into society. You have to make sure you do not seperate the male and female students. Do not allow male students to interrup female students when they are speaking. You can also make them work together. You have to avoid stereotypes and make sure you are being inclusive. It is important to do all of this because you do not want to create an environment that makes either gender uncomfy. If you do not do this this can create bullying, stereotyping, and even can create inequality between the students. This might even cause some students to not enjoy school, they might stop engaging in classwork or start to get depressed. It is important to make all your students feel equal, you should treat the students the same no matter what and this will cause the classroom to be an equal chance to learn for both genders. If you do see some students not listening, you should talk privately with them and explain that it is not allowed in your classroom.

Is schooling Equitable?
In my own opinion I feel that school is not equitable. Equitable means fair and equal. Without having a equitable school students will trust their school less. One example of this is that school makes grades and marks very important. Children might feel pressured on making good grades, they might be struggling with a certain topic or class. Schools make it seem like they do not care for the students passions and ambitions, most classes do not cover all careers. Such as some kids want to be doctors, engineers, and ect. But there are not many classes that can cover other passions as example, art classes are seen as a extra curricular. Schools tend to have dress codes, which means they have to cut their hair, have to wear a uniform, and most schools do not allow eletrionic devices. Schools should make students passions more important and make students passion for school better. If students are passionate about their school and classes they will be more likely to succeed or make good grades. Also with disapline, it can create difiance with students. Some students might be targeted more than the other students which is not fair at all. To make schools fair they must make sure marginalized students are treated equally and getting the support they need. To make school fair also you must understand, have fairness, and have humanity. It is important to make an environment that avoids divisiveness and tackles racism and all other forms of intolerance, which you can do with fairness.

How do we talk about issues that matter?
To be able to talk about issues that matter, you have to make sure communication is in high priority. Being able to make an environment that makes the parents or students feel able to feel safe to talk is very important. Parents should feel as if there is a problem, they can reach out to the teacher. Also, during teaching meetings, the parents should address any issues that they might have or their child. Most likely, teachers have no idea what the issue is or that their student is giving them a different version of what is going on. One example of this is when the student tells their parents that they do not understand anything that is going on or that the teacher is not teaching. But in reality, they are not paying attention in class. If the parents come across this issue they should reach out to the teacher to maybe get tutoring, or they might need some extra help. Teachers can also reach out to see if the extra help or tutoring is successful or not, so they can see the student's progress. If a student feels nervous about talking about any issues, they can come privately during office hours, or they can ask in advance. If they feel nervous, they can tell the teacher because it is important to disclose upfront, the teacher might understand where they are coming from. If the student is unsure of what to say, they can also write down some ideas to get the conversation going. Communication between teachers, parents, and students is very important.

What is the purpose of schools?
I believe the purpose of schools is to help students prepare themselves with the skills and abilities to be productive members of society. Some information is not used at all depending on what the student chooses to do for a career, but it sets a schedule for the student. Students can choose what information they want to use for their careers. One student might want to become an art teacher, so they will not use math at all. Marginalized students that come from low-income or may have a disability, they might struggle in school. No one knows what anyone really goes through at home, so as a teacher, you have to remember that and be patient with your students. Schools should create an environment that makes the student feel safe and make sure they have all the necessities they need. They also should have empathy for students that are struggling and make sure they are helping the student with anything they need.

Why teach?
When I was younger, I struggled in school due to me moving back and forth due to being in a middle of a custody war. I ended up struggling with a lot in many subjects, mostly math. I had one tutor that helped me become better at math. She inspired me to become a teacher because I want to help students understand that they can do math and any subject. It is also a family tradition; most of my sisters are teachers. My sisters would always tell me stories about how they enjoyed teaching. I also helped my sister in the classroom when she would teach; I would sit in the back and watch her lead, which also inspired me. I will be honest, I hated being a student, but I would come across excellent teachers that made me enjoy my time in school, which I inspire to be. I would love to work with elementary students specifically because I love kids. I have a huge passion for art, but I would love to be able to teach any subject.
I want to teach elementary students; I would love to teach art because I love art. I love to use any medium, so being able to teach students how to be creative would be so fantastic. I would love to teach my students to think outside the box and challenge them. I believe teaching this age would help me stay on my toes, and I get to teach them early in their lives, so I hope I can help make an impact on them.
